Taylor
Taylor Swift, the rarest pop star, is one who has managed to cross from the country genre to mainstream culture, and has become an icon of the pop world. The singer also swept the entire globe in the process. Swift shed country like it was an additional layer and proved that she is perhaps the most intelligent pop singer/songwriter of her time. A person who has the ability to tap into the mood of times to make her music personal and also sing in the other direction. This was evident in her early hits including the Neo-tribute Tim McGraw but her second album 2008's Fearless showcased a songwriter discovering her true identity and in the process, finding an audience of mass. Fearless became a worldwide hit and not just in North America (where it earned six times platinum for the Top Ten Hits Love Story and "You Belong with Me") however, in Canada, Australia and the U.K. and other countries. Swift's Speak Now album released two years ago consolidated her previous success, and catapulted the singer into superstardom. In the three albums following (Reputation 2017, 1989 2014, and Red 2012) Red 2012, 1989 2014 along with Reputation 2017 -- Swift's success only grew. It was a clear indication that she was in the new music scene where she fit in. Even though she had slowed the production of her folklore album, and Evermore releases in 2020 she was nevertheless leading the way in pop music.
