Dolly-Parton
Born on Jan. 19 1946 at Locust Ridge Tenn into a low-income family which would later include 12 children Dolly Parton learned early to be free from life's hardships by using her expansive and vivid imagination. Before she learned to write and read, she was making up her own songs. In the year she turned 8 and had the first electric guitar. Then she began to sing at an Knoxville Tenn Radio Station. The same year, she released her debut recording for Gold Band Records a tiny independent label. She established herself in the local scene while still at high school, but she always dreamed of performing on a bigger stage. The singer moved to Nashville shortly after her graduation in 1964. Her first charting records for Monument Records included Dumb Blonde and Something Fishy both in 1967. In the year 1967, Porter Wagoner was looking for a new girl singer for his television show that was syndicated. Parton was offered the gig and in the year 1967, she signed with RCA Records in 1968 and was a part of with the Grand Ole Opry in 1969. However she left Wagoner's show in 1974, as her own music, including Joshua Coat of Many Colors and Jolene were out-charting their collaborations. Parton, after the split of their association with Wagoner she wrote the song"I Will Never Love You and had it reach number. 1. for the first time in 1974.
