Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington is a Greek American author syndicated columnist and businesswoman. She founded The Huffington Post and the CEO of Thrive Global. Author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington, an independently-owned liberal news outlet and a television host author, author and an philanthropist. Her birthplace was Greece she relocated to England when she was 16 and was able to graduate from Cambridge University with an MA in Economics. The infamous debating society The Cambridge Union was her first presidency and she did it at the age of 21. When she graduated, she made her mark as a conservative syndicated columnist as well as with the introduction of The Huffington Post' few years later, she developed an online voice platform that offered critical observations about the current political climate. Her fame has helped attract a number of famous contributors. Arianna became famous after she decided to become an Independent Candidate for the California Recall Election to replace the Governor Davis. Arianna was also part of a Detroit-based project that promoted cars that are fuel efficient. Forbes listed her 12th in its list for the Most influential women in the media. Guardian also included the HuffingtonPost in their Top 100 list in 2010. AOL bought The Huffington Post from AOL in 2011. In 2012, she became the head of the AOL media group. The group included several AOL-owned properties, such as Engadget AOL Style List and Patch Media. Her parents were Elli and Konstantinos Stasinopoulos. They were an expert in management and a journalist. While she enjoyed a strong connection to her mother and father, it was their bond that shaped her. She displayed leadership qualities from the beginning. At the age of 16, she moved from America to United Kingdom and enrolled Girton College Cambridge. During her college days she was a member of the college debate society Cambridge Union where she became the third foreign, and first female president. She graduated in 1972 with an advanced degree in Economics. Following her degree she worked as a journalist-critic and a host on TV. She also appeared with Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started writing books using the editorial services of Bernard Levin.
