Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington resides in the United States and is a Greek-American writer, syndicated writer of columns and a businesswoman. She is the co-founder and chief executive officer of Thrive Global, as well as the author of 15 books. Arianna Huffington is a journalist, author, philanthropist, television host, and owner of The Huffington Post. She moved to Greece to England at the age of 16 and obtained a MA from Cambridge University in Economics. The first graduate non-UK to serve as president of The Cambridge Union at the age 21. The success of her conservative journalist was further consolidated when she finished her degree. With the introduction of The Huffington Post a few months later, she launched an online voice-portal that provided critical opinions on the state of the nation's politics. In part, her fame helped in attracting several famous contributors. Arianna gained fame after she decided in 2003 to run as an Independent candidate for the California Recall election to succeed former Governor Davis. Apart from this she also led a Detroit project to promote fuel efficient cars. She was named one of the Most Popular Women in Media by Forbes in 2009, and was awarded the 12th spot on this list. The same year, the Guardian named her on the 100 most influential media on their list. AOL Inc. acquired The Huffington Post in 2011 and named her the president of their media company that also includes other AOL properties such as Engadget AOL Music Style list as well as Patch Media. Elli was the son of Konstantinos, a journalist and management consultant. The way she lived her life was determined by the closeness she had to her mother as well as her relationship with her father, despite her being very close to him.
