April Ross
April Ross has won more than one Olympic gold medal. She is one of the few female beach volleyball players to have achieved this feat. Ross is scheduled to compete in Tokyo for her third Olympic medal along with Alix Klineman, a first time Olympian. Ross's objective is her first Olympic gold medal. This may be the last opportunity she gets as she is 39 years old. She is still confident, however. Ross, via NBC Boston, said that the team was confident that we would be a winner by playing our best. And, I'm also going try to be a little lucky. Ross, who was born 1982 and lived within Costa Mesa California with her siblings and parents, started participating in sports at the Newport Harbor High school. At Newport Harbor High School, she played in a variety of different sports. In addition to indoor volleyball, she played tennis and also jogged track when she was an athlete in the pre-professional stage. In the last sport she clearly stood out. As a time at the high school level in her college information, she played as middle blocker, outside hitter, and setter. She was awarded one of the Gatorade National Circle of Champions player of the Year in 1999 for her efforts. Her skills in volleyball earned her an Orange County Athlete of the Year award in 2000. Ross and Klineman began their partnership in 2017, however Ross was a renowned participant on the beach for quite a while before. She has been a prominent player on the scene of beaches for many years. Indeed, Ross won several tournaments, including one with a famous volleyball star. In the period 2007 to 2013 she teamed along with Jennifer Kessy who more recently worked as Klineman's coach. Alongside Kessy Ross was an ace in the world circuit, winning the world championship in 2009. In 2012, the pair were awarded silver medals at the London Olympics. Misty Maytreanor's iconic team along with Kerri Jennings were the winners of gold. Ross is Walsh Jennings new partner after May-Treanor's exit. The duo went on to earn the beach volleyball bronze during the Rio Olympics in 2016. Ross was a college player for USC Trojans before starting her professional career. She was a player in high school, and in some years prior to going to the beach for professional. Ross's playing time with the Trojans was one of the best. While a freshman in the year 2000 she fought her way to Pac-10 as well as NCAA The Freshman of the Year awards and earned an All-American. Her performance also assisted in helping the Trojans reach their first Final Four. The Trojans suffered a heartbreaking personal defeat in her sophomore year, but she still repeated her place as an All-American. In her two final years playing for the Trojans the team, she played a key role in helping win consecutive championships. She had established herself as an all-time great receiving an award in the year 2003-04. Honda Sports Award as the highest ranked female volleyball player. Ross majored in foreign relations and international affairs at USC. However, Ross mom Margie was not able to witness her daughter rise to the highest levels in beach volleyball's acclaim. Margie, Ross's mother, passed away in 2001, when Ross was still a USC sophomore. She had breast cancer. Her mother is still in her arms. Margie continues to be an inspiration while on the beaches and all throughout her life.
